Become a state director

Miss Amazing Inc. is looking for experienced event planners who are passionate about working with and advocating for people with disabilities. Miss Amazing Pageant state directors, first and foremost, are responsible for acquiring the funds, participants, and volunteers necessary to hold a state Miss Amazing Pageant. This process takes about 5-8 months of planning. Miss Amazing Pageant state directors are expected to recruit 15 participants and 15 buddies minimum and to raise at least $1000. We would like to work with individuals who intend on serving the organization for three consecutive years.

We are looking for individuals with the following skills:

  • -Proficient in Gmail and Google Applications
  • -Excellent time management
  • -Professional email etiquette
  • -Prompt communicator
  • -Equipped with a smart phone (desirable, but not required)

Although we are a nationwide team, the Miss Amazing executive team and state directors maintain constant communication and maintain an ongoing dialogue about our events and how the organization can grow to be bigger and better. In other words, we expect all state directors to be invested and participating members of our organization.

Following the state Miss Amazing Pageant, state pageant directors are also expected to support the six state queens as they raise the funds necessary to attend the National Miss Amazing Pageant, held annually in Omaha, NE. State directors are also expected to attend the national event and to support the participants and their families there.

The Miss Amazing Pageant state director position is undoubtedly involved and demands time and attention. However, state directors consistently believe the experience to be the most rewarding experience of their lives. As the curtain closes on one state event, they are already thinking about planning next year’s.
